After you've purchased a portrait
I will send you an email with a form to fill out to tell me all about your pet and the special details you would like (or not like) in your custom portrait.

in the meantime start searching for that perfect photo, here's some tips!

1. Good Natural Lighting
• Take photos in daylight near a window or outdoors in shaded areas to avoid harsh shadows.
• Overcast days work great for even lighting.

2. Eye-Level Perspective
• Get down to your pet’s level for a more intimate and lifelike view.
• Avoid extreme angles (looking down or up) unless you want that specific effect in the portrait.

3. High-Resolution Images
• Use a camera or a smartphone with a good camera.
• Ensure the photo isn’t blurry or pixelated, so all the details are clear.

4. Focus on the Eyes

• Capture your pet’s eyes clearly, as they are the soul of the portrait.
• Make sure the eyes are well-lit and sharp.

6. Capture Unique Features
• Showcase any special markings, patterns, or scars your pet has that you’d like highlighted.

7. Take Multiple Shots
• Provide a variety of angles: front, side, and close-up shots.
• Include any playful or characteristic expressions your pet makes.

8. Avoid Filters
• Send unedited photos without filters that alter colors, as natural tones are best for accuracy.

9. Get Help if Needed
• Enlist a friend to hold a treat or toy near the camera to capture your pet’s attention.
• For shy pets, take photos when they’re relaxed in their favorite spot.

10. Consider Your Pet’s Personality
• If you want the portrait to reflect their playful, regal, or mischievous side, capture photos that highlight this vibe.

11. Include Reference Photos of Size or Fur Texture
• For fluffy or long-haired pets, additional photos showcasing the texture of their fur can be helpful.

You can always share multiple photos and I can help you decide. I can also combine elements to create the perfect portrait :)
